I always get asked how I manage to look really glam and fresh faced. I’m chuffed with the compliments but ladies under all this slap believe me there is the washed up dull complexion, bags under eyes and puffiness that show the full toll of sleep deprivation. So how do I manage to look the way I do……well apart from being very blessed with young genes (thank’s Mum!) I am going to share my secrets. Ladies listen up this is your arsenal.
Each morning I drag myself to the shower and afterwards begin my transformation from sleep deprived mess to hopefully glam goddess. I have rosacea so at present I am using Eucerin anti-redness cream. I then use Benefits Pore Professional (this is like polyfilla for your face) I spread it around my T-Zone and also under my eyes, its great for filling in all those little lines and wrinkles giving a smooth surface for your foundation. Next up I use Estee Lauder Double Wear, I find it is the only foundation that does last a good bit throughout the day without too many touch ups. I have quite oily skin and have been on a search for an amazing full coverage foundation that will give me flawless skin and for which I am still searching, so in the meantime Double Wear is the next best thing. I then use Bareminerals powder which gives the appearance of a flawless luminous coverage. You can use it on its own but I find I need to use foundation underneath for that maximum coverage that I love.
Unfortunately due to years of over waxing and a thyroid condition I have no eyebrows worth talking about and therefore need to draw on my face. For this I use Anastasia of Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade which is an amazing waterproof brow colour which you can sculpt and define the brow. You will need to use a thin slanted eyebrow brush for this. There are plenty on the market but I use one from Mac which does the job. I also highly recommend their Pro Pencil. this is a great concealer which can be used everywhere on the face including as a lip liner to prevent lipstick bleeding but I mostly use it to touch up around the brow I have drawn on. In total it takes me around 10 minutes in the morning to get my face on, I do have it down to a fine art now as time is limited, I am always on the clock.
There is also never a better pick me up than having a lovely glow that fools people into thinking you’ve spent your summer in the med. Since I am breastfeeding I cannot go for the normal spray tans or ones that develop overnight unless I want my baby to sport a patchy tanned face (and a visit from social services) so instead I have been using Cocoa Brown 1 Hour tan Mousse in the dark shade and also St Moriz 1 hour tan. Both are equally as good just a few pounds in price difference. These fabulous quick developing tans allow me to achieve my glow between feeds and I just shower them off after 1-2 hours depending on how deep a tan I would like. Cocoa Brown does come out on top for me as it is easier to apply, quite a nice scent and I feel I get a bit more of a natural looking tan that does last a few days more with no patchiness to try and scrub off between applications and with it being a firm favourite with celebs including Kylie Jenner who has recently expressed her love for the brand it’s definitely one I would recommend you try. St Moriz does take a bit of scrubbing as the colour does go patchy in places as it wears off. St Tropez have also just recently jumped on the fast tanning 1 hour band wagon and brought out their own version of the 1 hour tan but at £30 plus it can be quite an expensive option if you are wanting to maintain your tan throughout the year. It is all down to personal choice at the end of the day but this is what works for me. Now get stocking up girls…
