Hey everyone, I hope you are having a great start to the week. I had a lovely weekend with the kiddies and friends and family. I even got to escape for a few hours on Sunday with my good friend Natasha and we visited the Professional Beauty Belfast exhibition in the Waterfront.
It isn’t as big a show as what we are used to at the RDS in Dublin so we didn’t spend long at it but while we where there we visited the Dermaceutic Laboratoire stand who are the partner of choice for over 30,000 aesthetic dermatology specialists worldwide. They are one of the first laboratories to develop products using ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamin c complex, retinol and glycolic acid (basically everything you would want and need in a skincare range).
They have 7 main aspects to their range which I love, as it means you aren’t having to use a million different products each day, and let’s face it who has the time, I certainly don’t so I was very interested to hear all about what they offer. The 7 essential actions cover Cleanse, Purify, Stimulate, Restore, Protect, Prevent and Target.
We had a chat with the very knowledgeable Carly McCabe who is their National Sales Aesthetics Representative for Non-Surgical Division, and she went through my main concerns which are rosacea, oily skin and anti-ageing. She recommended the C25 Antioxidant Day Cream for me to use until my skin got under control before we would look at using any of the other products. She very kindly gave me some samples to try and I look forward to letting you all know how I get on with them over the next few weeks.
Another product I was fascinated with was BPerfect Cosmetics 10 second tan. Yes you heard me right, 10 seconds!! It is a spray and just 3 pumps is required to cover a full arm. It has a gorgeous coconut smell to it and dries instantly upon application. You just need to wait 1 hour and wash off and I was really impressed with the colour once it developed. Retailing at £24.99 it is on the more expensive side of self tanners but worth every penny. I will cover it in more depth in a blog post very soon.
Powder n Pout where there with their amazing makeup brushes and I recommend you check their website out www.powdernpout.com favoured by so many makeup artists their brushes really do leave a flawless finish and are of very high quality and an amazing price. If you are in the Donegal area then check out their salon too.
As there wasn’t really much else to look at we decided to pop into St George’s Market which is on from Friday to Sunday every weekend. I can’t believe this was our first time actually going to it considering it is right on our doorstep.
What can I say the place was absolutely buzzing, the smell of the foods and market stalls that hit you as soon as you walk in are divine. Literally every food you can think of is catered for here. If you are a foodie then this will be heaven for you. There are also so many unique craft stalls so if your looking to pick up a gift for someone then this is definitely the place for you. Sew Personal was one of my favourite and the lovely owner Paula has so many quality handcrafted gifts for weddings, babies and the home, definitely check out her stall if you are there.
The Cakery Bakery have the most gorgeous cupcakes so if you have a sweet tooth head straight there, and Dolci Italiani bake unbelievable cakes and pastries, definitely try the Strawberry & white chocolate pistachio cake and the Blueberry olive oil one. Delicious. I will be going back there just to get some slices to take home.
So if you are in Belfast whether you live there or just visiting definitely check out St Georges Market for the exciting thrill of one of Belfast’s oldest and most colourful attractions, your tastebuds will thank you for it.
The rest of my week is really busy as Ella starts her Regional Dance Competitions and then there is Father’s Day on Sunday so lots to get organised this week.
