Like all makeup fanatics around the globe I sat up to crazy o’clock (there is an 8 hour time difference between here and LA) on launch day waiting for the site to go live to bag myself one the new KKW x Kylie lip kit collaborations to be added to Jenners product line. Kylie had already debuted a collaboration with her sister Khloe to huge success so this one was sure to follow suit.
Kim wanted to bring out a collection with colours that are representative of her favourite shades which of course are variations of nude. Unlike the other lip kits, this time round they produced a crème liquid lipstick and they are all the most stunning nude shades, and you know me I absolutely love my nude lips!
So what did I think about this new lip kit collection? Well for one the packaging is just gorgeous, it comes in a nude pink box, very pretty, simple and elegant. The lip creme’s are perfect pinky nude shades and appropriately named KIM, KIMBERLY, KIKI and KIMMIE which are all Kim’s nicknames.
The new formula is not a matte or a gloss so I was intrigued to see what the creamy liquid lipstick was all about, however I am not so keen on the formula. It glides on really well and has more of a velvety finish as opposed to a sticky one which you tend to get with glosses and overall it gives a sheer to medium coverage, but I do like my lipsticks to have more coverage and their staying power isn’t great. Unlike the matte liquid lipsticks which literally lasts for hours no matter if you drink or eat, so I have to admit I was a little disappointed that I did have to reapply so much throughout the day, however you can layer to build up the intensity of colour and maybe using a lip primer beforehand might help with staying power.
Regardless of the formula though I love the range of nude colours, the packaging is divine and if it means I have to top up a lot more throughout the day it’s worth it for a beautiful nude lip and the ingredients moisturise and hydrate your lips so if you suffer from dry lips and don’t like a matte lipstick then these crème lipsticks will be perfect for you. I do secretly hope they bring out a matte range in the same colours as they are incredible.
My favourite colour is KIMBERLY, I just felt it was the best match to my skin tone and makeup and is such a wearable every day nude.
The kits themselves are sold out, however on previous occasions Kylie Jenner has re-launched the sold out Khloe collaboration on special holidays so watch this space! You may be able to bag yourself the set yet.
