I was honoured to be invited to the recent official book launch of ‘Local Lily Goes to Spain’ by Northern Ireland chef turned author Stephanie Gray. Stephanie has swapped her pots and pans to turn her dreams into a reality of releasing her debut novel.
Local Lily Goes to Spain is the first book in a Local Lily book series which will have you dreaming of summer holidays and laughing out loud at Lily’s antics in the sunshine. Speaking at the launch Stephanie said “Lily and her friends are characters that I hope we can all relate to and have a laugh with. And that’s exactly what I wanted to do with this book – bring a bit of joy and laughter into the world.”
The book follows Lily after she catches her long-term boyfriend doing the nasty with another woman. Armed with a new look, her best friends and a fresh take on life, Lily high-tails it to Spain for sun, sangria and Spanish men. There will be dancing, there will be catfights, there will be romance and adventure. Anything can happen when Local Lily Goes to Spain. It’s a trip of a lifetime and you’re invited!
At the launch the atmosphere was fantastic and we really did feel magically transported into Lily’s world. There where amazing dancers from The Fusion Latina NI who got us all up on the floor for some salsa dancing. The sangria was flowing, the music was incredible and there was a special performance from Amanda St John Music and also from up and coming singer Bethany. It really was a feel good night and exactly what Local Lily goes to Spain is all about. If you are looking a fun, lively book that is like the Irish version of Sex and the City that will have you laughing out loud then this is for you.
Go grab a glass of wine settle down and get lost in this incredibly funny story with lots of witty characters, mischief and laughs with Lily and her friends. After all ‘There’s one in every town’….
