I absolutely love Christmas, even more so now i’m a mummy. Gone are the days of having a jam packed night out practically every evening for dinner and drinks. Instead I am excitedly planning what presents my babies will love, shopping for cute Christmas jumpers and outfits, watching Christmas movies snuggled up on the sofa drinking hot chocolate, strolling round the Christmas market, carousel rides and attending school plays. There is nothing more magical than the countdown to Christmas and getting ready for the holidays with a very excited child who is looking forward to Santa coming.
Last year my little princess came home from school one day talking 90 words a minute in a whirlwind about magical elves who become part of your family and who fly back each night in December to the North Pole to advise Santa on how they have behaved that day and when they return the next morning they may have got up to mischief!
So down Ella sat with her crayons and paper and she started to write a letter to Santa asking could she possibly be good enough to receive a special elf. She waited and waited the whole month of December praying each day that maybe Santa would grant her wish.
Well just a few days before last Christmas we had a very special visitor who would become a big part of our lives and hence our Elf on the Shelf journey began….
This is Snowflake our very own Elf on the Shelf sent by Santa to become part of our family. For the few days she spent with us last year she brought so much joy and happiness to one little girl. She is a very special attentive elf who even came back to visit on special occasions this year. She appeared for birthdays, ballet exams and even after the arrival of Ella’s little baby brother. It’s remarkable how we have very good behaviour when Snowflake is around!
We have waited anxiously for her arrival and there was a little disappointment when she didn’t appear this morning on the 1st December but that is because she had a very big surprise in store for us when she arrived this evening. Welcome back Snowflake.
I look forward to seeing what mischief awaits us from now until Christmas Eve.
