I bought this foundation simply for the fact it was an HD Photogenic one and having fell in love with NYX matte lip creams I thought it was a sure fire winner.
Stating it helps you achieve flawless skin, achieving picture perfect looks anytime your basically on camera, I was excited to see how it faired.
How it is supposed to work – light diffusing ingredients blur skin imperfections and thus creating the appearance of smooth flawless skin. It is meant to create a soft focus effect to minimise the appearance of fine lines and leaves your complexion with a natural radiant finish. Hmmmmm, lets see, did it transform me into flawless goddess like angel?
Well no. As you can see my skin is still red, fine lines are aplenty and I do not look as radiant and refreshed as stated. I do have oily skin and need to make sure I have a full coverage foundation. This foundation was sadly more like a tinted moisturiser or BB cream rather than a full coverage foundation.
When applied it felt quite sticky and doesn’t ever seem to dry. Throughout the day when I would pat my face or touch up it still seemed sticky. I was disappointed that it didn’t cover up my rosacea and my fine lines looked even more prominent. Even applying another layer and building on the colour didn’t matter. In the picture on the left is my first application and the picture on the right is my second and there is no visible difference despite me caking on the product with a beauty blender and setting with powder then a matte setting spray. Within minutes my face appeared oily again and I felt like I wasn’t wearing any makeup.
I used the colour Sand Beige and it was a nice shade of nude which did look like it would compliment most skin tones, but sadly it just wasn’t going to live up to its name. If you have problem skin or are looking for a lot of coverage then this foundation is not for you. However if you are blessed with youthful, blemish free complexions and only want a light coverage then I do recommend it especially for the price from £14.99.
