If you are visiting Belfast for an overnight stay or longer, then look no further than Belfast’s newest hotel Room2. Situated in Queen Street right in the heart of the city this sustainable Hometel is the first of its kind in Belfast and it’s dog friendly too!
When you walk through the doors you’re immediately transported into the most stunning, bright vibrant lobby, lounge and bar area. Every corner is enriched with beautiful plants and you are greeted by the most friendliest staff. General Manager Michelle and her gorgeous little dog Archie along with Kerry one of the front of house staff gave us such a warm welcome making us feel like family.
Now that we were checked in it was off to see our beautiful room. We stayed in one of the Large Lofts which was perfect for 3 people. The Large Loft is extremely cosy and has a large double bed and bunk bed along with a dining area and kitchen. Complete with a cooker, microwave, kettle, fridge and utensils, it has everything you could need for the duration of your stay. This really is a home from home.
If you are bringing your dog along and don’t want to bring a dog bed with you, the hotel are able to provide a dog bed in your room.
Now that we were all settled into our room it was time to explore the rest of the hotel to see what it had to offer. First up was the gym which was quite literally opposite our room (I’ve never been as close to a gym in my life so no excuses from me to work out during my stay!) complete with weights, stretch mats, treadmill, rowing machine and some Peloton bikes this has everything to ensure you have a good workout. I was especially excited about the Peloton bikes as I have wanted to try one for so long. The workout was fab I did a beginner bike ride with Tunde Oyeneyin and her energy was infectious. I definitely would want to own one in the future.
On the same floor as the gym there is a laundry room which is perfect for those longer stays and to save the task of all the dreaded mammoth washing when you arrive home. Not many hotels offer a laundry room just a laundry service so this is a really nice facility to have in a hotel to go at your own convenience rather than wait on a concierge service.
Room2 Belfast also offer Meeting & Events Spaces including a Kitchen Workshop perfect for private dining seating up to 10, a supper club with your friends or a fun cook off for office team building days. On the first floor there is a gorgeous chill out zone perfect for pre-event gatherings or just to take some time out and relax with a good book during your stay. I loved sitting watching the world go by in such a relaxed space.
There are also three other workshop rooms for any type of gathering small or medium sized but also has the flexibility to open up into one big event space holding up to 120 people. Whether you are holding a yoga class, presentation or meeting, Room2 can cater to all your needs. With panoramic views, natural daylight and filled with striking artwork and plants, your staff and clients would really thank you for such a stunning environment and escape from the office.
The ground floor is home to a trendy bar and restaurant and superb cosy vibrant lounge area which even has its own art gallery displaying works from local artists. There is a real cool friendly vibe just sitting here soaking up the atmosphere and all the staff are so friendly and accommodating stopping to say hello and ask if you need anything, I literally could move in here! On that note the hotel offer special rates for long term bookings, I was even chatting to a few guests who were staying for 2 months with work and who are loving their stay and everything Room2 has to offer.
Even though we opted to have dinner in our room we did go down and spend time in the bar and lounge area and I enjoyed lovely cocktails while soaking up the atmosphere. Ella and Cameron loved chilling out and played with some of the board games and books which are thoughtfully placed throughout the lounge for guests enjoyment. Milo loved all the attention he got from the staff and was so settled throughout our stay. I can’t thank the staff enough for being so welcoming and accommodating and a big thank you to Nathan the Senior Duty Manger who makes a fab cosmopolitan! Steven the Duty Bar Manager and Caoilfhinn for their hospitality.
For breakfast we headed downstairs to Winnie’s Cafe which put on a fabulous A La carte breakfast menu which caters for all food types. There is also the Rosie Lee Tea Room which has every type of tea imaginable. Such a cute spot to drop in for some afternoon tea on a shopping trip. Throughout the day Winnie’s serves a range of sandwiches, salads and bar snacks and a pizza menu available from midday to 10pm daily.
We have had such an incredible stay and overall I have been blown away by this hotel. Not only is the hotel made from all natural materials it runs on 100% electric and low carbon renewable energy. Room2 also has a zero waste to landfill policy. The Hometel provides the most comfortable, friendly, relaxed atmosphere and it was better than what we expected and had everything we could wish for and more. We can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for leaving me inspired and with a heart full of joy.
